CANTON ‒ The government shutdown deadline is hours away. If no agreement is made, the impact would be felt in Stark County.
Canton's National First Ladies Library & Museum, which partners with the National Park Service, would be facing a potential closing should a funding agreement not be reached.
"We won't be able to open our doors for visitors," David Lee, president and CEO of the museum, said on Sept. 30 on behalf of the nonprofit organization. "The visitor center and museum will be closed as well as the Saxton house for our park ranger tours that happen every day at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m., so visitors will not be able to come in and experience our exhibits."
