LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The pending government shutdown will impact Arkansans is multiple ways. How much and when is difficult to determine.

If the Senate does not reach a deal tonight, the government will be unfunded, hence shut down, as of 11:01 p.m. Central time.

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders instructed cabinet secretaries to consult with the Department of Finance and Administration and the Department of Shared Administrative Services to determine which programs are suspended and employees furloughed.

Agencies necessary to the health, safety or welfare of Arkansans that the federal government has documented guaranteed funding during the shutdown may continue to operate, the governor said, adding that programs that have funding in place may continue to operate as long as the funding remains
