MARION COUNTY, Fla. — A man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of possession and creating child sexual abuse material using artificial intelligence, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

MCSO says that they first became aware of the man, Lucius Martin, 39, when a parent reported finding images of their juvenile daughter and another minor on his phone. The parent reported that they had taken photos of the phone, and found both original pictures from a "public-facing social media application," as well as duplicates that AI had altered.

According to a police report, four images had been altered. MCSO says the images "clearly depicted the children in sexual positions and are clearly focused on sexual gratification." It was later discovered that the images had been
