LOUISVILLE, Ky. — For the first time, Bellarmine University is receiving a Federal TRIO Student Support Services grant from the U.S. Department of Education. This new program, backed by a $1.36 million grant over five years, is meant to help low-income and first-generation students succeed in college and graduate.
According to a release from Bellarmine, half of its undergraduates are Pell Grant-eligible and/or first-gen students, which makes the grant especially impactful.
