A plan to get Bluewater Health back on track financially appears to be working, the hospital group’s corporate services vice-president says.

“I feel we’ve got a really solid plan,” said Marlene Kerwin.

The hospital’s Shift initiative, “Shifting focus through innovation and financial transformation for a stronger future,” was launched in March to get Bluewater Health’s budget balanced by March 31, 2028, she said.

Bluewater Health finished it’s fiscal year at the end of March this year with a $7.5-million operating deficit , officials said at the corporation’s annual general meeting in June.
