LOS ANGELES COUNTY (KABC) -- The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is expected to approve a $20 million landmark settlement in the death of Noah Cuatro , a Palmdale boy who was tortured and murdered by his parents in 2019.

Evangelina Hernandez, the 4-year-old's great-grandmother, filed the wrongful death suit against the county in July 2020 on behalf of Noah's 6-year-old sister and two brothers, ages 5 and 11, criticizing the actions of employees of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).

The lawsuit alleged that DCFS failed to carry out an order to remove Cuatro from his parents, weeks before he was killed.

Attorneys argue that Noah's murder could have been prevented.
