A Brantford woman’s planned career path into medicine took a detour to England, where she now works as an aerodynamicist for one of the world’s leading Formula 1 racing teams.

“I always kind of enjoyed the math and science subjects but I was more focused on biology and chemistry,” shared 26-year-old Isabel Simmons, whose family moved to Brantford when she was 7 years old. “My Grade 10 science teacher, Mr. Devine (who taught physics at St. John’s College in Brantford) heavily encouraged me to try physics because I wasn’t going to initially take it.”
