LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - This weekend, on Oct. 4, Lake Charles will be getting a glimpse of what Bavarian culture looks like.

Crying Eagle Brewing Company is hosting its annual Oktoberfest event at its university location, where there will be fun activities and food that honor the festival.

Eric Avery, the founder of Crying Eagle Brewing Company, says that it’s an important event for their restaurant.

“Here is the only place where a great Oktoberfest event is celebrated, and we brew our own style of Oktoberfest beer right here,” Avery said.

The event will have several Oktoberfest-themed activities, such as a stein-holding contest, keg toss, stein chug, and barrel races.

Crying Eagle Brewing will even have traditional Oktoberfest food, such as bratwurst, pretzels, and schnitzel.
