Households across England, Scotland and Wales will soon be able to apply for up to £2,000 towards their fuel bills, as British Gas reopens its Energy Support Fund.

The scheme, aimed at existing customers struggling with debt or facing fuel poverty, will be relaunched on Tuesday, October 1, ahead of winter as bill affordability concerns increase, reports Express.co.uk.

Chris O’Shea, chief executive of Centrica, which owns British Gas , said: “As winter approaches, we know that rising household bills are a real worry for many people across the UK.
