Welcome back, “Reading Rainbow.”

Almost two decades since the “Reading Rainbow” aired its final episode, the beloved PBS kids show is returning with a new host and a slew of celebrity guests — as well as a hope for renewed love of literacy.

“After nearly 20 years … ‘Reading Rainbow ' is returning to motivate, help, and encourage kids to become avid readers with new episodes, new friends, new projects, and of course … new books!” says the show’s description.

Mychal Threets, a librarian and digital creator, will take the reins as host of the rebooted series, following in the footsteps of LeVar Burton, who hosted the original series from 1983 through 2006.
