A 24-year-old New Brighton man previously convicted of three felonies faces a new charge in connection with a fatal shooting last month in St. Paul's Frogtown neighborhood.

Kireice Plez-Sachet Williams is accused of killing Levon T. Washington, 26, of Minneapolis, in the early hours of Aug. 16 during a gathering in the 300 block of Edmund Avenue. He was charged Tuesday with second-degree murder.

Washington was shot once in the neck and pronounced dead at a hospital around 5 a.m.

Multiple witnesses identified Williams as the shooter who fled the scene before officers arrived around 4:10 a.m.

According to a criminal complaint, one witness told police that the two men argued about "which side they were on" and Williams threatened to shoot Washington before he pulled the trigger.
