GARDEN CITY, Kan. (KSNW) — Garden City Community College has received a $420,000 grant from the Patterson Family Foundation to support the construction of its new Construction and Electrical Technology Center, the school said Tuesday.
The $2.4 million project will feature nearly 6,000 square feet of instructional space for carpentry, roofing, electrical technology, and other fields. With the grant, GCCC has now raised $1.9 million, close to 80% of the total funding needed, according to the school.
The new center will house GCCC’s Electrical Technology program and an expanded Construction Technology program, offering various credentials and degrees.
