Over the past six decades, Alabama’s adult education program has been transformed by a quiet revolution that has been extraordinarily successful.
It was my honor to be able to speak to the annual adult education conference at the downtown Renaissance Montgomery convention center in late June.
When I accepted their invitation to speak, I thought there would be 50 to 60 attendees. However, when I walked in, I was amazed to see the venue filled with over 400 passionate, positive and energized educators and administrators.
It quickly dawned on me that we have one of the most successful adult education programs in America. These folks in attendance are dedicated to their work. It is their passion and purpose. Adult education is nothing short of a movement that has changed generations and con
