More Target runs could be in your future, as the retailer plans to open over half a dozen stores in October.

The Minneapolis-based retail giant is set to open a slate of stores across 20 U.S. states, according to its website.

The company says that it considers a number of factors when deciding where to put a new location, including: community need, site constraints and other area Target stores.

Target noted in a fact sheet provided to USA TODAY that it is leaning into larger footprints, with six of its new stores being larger than the 125,000-square-foot chain average. The fact sheet states that Target opened eight locations this summer.

Target has faced pushback from consumers upset with its rollback of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies. The boycotts have damaged Target's reputation, which the company acknowledged in its report for fiscal year 2024.

Here's where Target is set to open new locations.
