Oxford County and the Town of Tillsonburg will spend close to $4 million for arsenic removal treatment in a Tillsonburg well.

At its Sept. 22 meeting, council voted to enter into a $5.7-million multi-year contract with Baseline Constructors Inc. — part of which was covered by a provincial grant — to treat Well 7A at 451 Broadway Street.

In 2024, Oxford County hired AECOM to complete a detailed design for improvements at the Tillsonburg Well 7A Water Treatment Facility. Currently, the arsenic concentration within the well is approaching the Ontario Drinking Water Quality Standards limits.
