AVOYELLES PARISH, La. (KALB) - A 13-year-old juvenile has been arrested following social media threats in Avoyelles Parish, according to Sheriff David Dauzat.

The nature of the threat was not specified; however, Avoyelles High School was on a soft lockdown on Sept. 30 in response to threats circulating online.

The 13-year-old, accompanied by a parent or guardian, is in custody, cooperating with authorities and confessed to the crime. The juvenile suspect is charged with four counts of terrorizing. The teen will be processed through the juvenile justice system.
