Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) will set up India’s first private-sector helicopter Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Vemagal, Karnataka, to build Airbus’ H125 light helicopters. The facility will roll out its first “Made in India” H125 by early 2027, aimed at both domestic and export markets in South Asia.

The initiative will boost India’s civil helicopter segment—spanning medical evacuation, disaster relief, law enforcement, and tourism—while also supporting the armed forces’ demand for a light, high-altitude capable multi-role helicopter. A military variant, the H125M, is planned from the Indian line with high levels of indigenisation.
