This program tells the history of the Indiana State Library from its establishment in 1825 to the present day. Starting as a small reference collection for the Indiana Legislature, the library has grown over the past 200 years into a premier research institution specializing in Indiana history, state government documents, family history, newspapers, maps, and more.
Afterwards, join us for a special marker dedication and reception with the Indiana Historical Bureau to celebrate the Indiana State Library bicentennial. The new historical marker commemorates the State Library’s
