The Edmonton Oilers have finally made a trade for a new goaltender.
On Wednesday morning, it was announced that the Oilers had acquired Connor Ingram from the Utah Mammoth in exchange for future considerations. This comes a couple of days after Ingram cleared waivers and weeks of rumours that Utah was trying to find him a new team.
Utah has retained $800,000 of his $1.95 million cap hit, bringing Ingram down to $1.15 million for the season.
The 28-year-old Saskatchewan native is coming off a few rough years on a personal level. Ingram seemed to arrive as an NHL goaltender in the 2023-24 season with the Arizona Coyotes, posting an impressive .908 SV percentage in 50 games on a bad team.
Heading into Utah last season, the expectation was that he would hold down the starter’s job. However
