Ladakh environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk’s wife, Gitanjali Angmo, has written to President Droupadi Murmu, appealing for his unconditional release. In her letter, she urged the President, as a tribal herself, to understand the sentiments of Ladakh’s people.
Copies of the letter were also sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Angmo described Wangchuk as a peaceful Gandhian activist fighting for climate action and development of tribal communities.
