BREWER -- Since Marden’s announced its relocation to Bangor... The Brewer City Hall has been re-imagining the future of Wilson Street and surrounding areas in the town.

Marden’s retail store has been a Brewer staple for decades, but as of recently, the store announced that they were moving to Bangor.

D’arcy Main-Boyington, Director of Economic Development for the city of Brewer, explained that they will move between January and March of 2026.

She says the loss of the business can actually open up another avenue.

“It’s obviously a huge loss to the city. They’re sort of iconic here. They’ve been here for so long. At the same time, the biggest problem the city of Brewer has had since COVID-19 is lack of space. We have so many businesses contacting our office wanting to move here," expla
