ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – No bids have been received for Maxwell Golf Course in Abilene.

The City of Abilene decided to sell the municipal golf course this year and began accepting bids to purchase the course last month.

Bids needed to be at least $1.33 million and interested parties were required to following certain criteria when purchasing Maxwell, such as the property must remain a public golf course that accepts memberships and allows local school golf teams to practice.

All bids received were scheduled to be read aloud at City Hall October 1, however, when the time came, no bids had been received.

City council members will now advise city staff on how to move forward with the sale of Maxwell Golf Course during an upcoming meeting October 9.
