BUNCOMBE, Ill. (WSIL) -- The sheriff in Johnson County is urging motorists to use extra precaution when traveling on a highway near Buncombe, due to multiple recent crashes and vehicle damages from rocks.
Johnson County Sheriff Pete Sopczak tells News 3 there have been three crashes in three days which all resulted in injuries along Highway 37 near Buncombe.
Sopczak said on September 28, a gravel truck and a passenger vehicle were involved in a crash near the entrance of Shawnee Stone. Multiple people were injured and sent to a hospital for treatment.
On September 29, Sopczak said another crash happened in this same location, again between a rock truck traveling to the quarry and a passenger vehicle. Multiple people were reported injured in this crash as well and were sent to a local ho
