North Iowa retired school employees collectively completed more than 13,000 community volunteer hours during the 2024-25 fiscal year, according to a press release from the Mason City AREA Retired School Personnel Association.

Members of the MCARSPA, a unit of the National Retired School Personnel Association, are retirees from the Central Springs, Clear Lake, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Mason City, Northwood-Kensett, Rudd-Rockford- Marble Rock, St. Ansgar and West Fork school districts, as well as North Iowa Area Community College, Newman Catholic and the Area Education Association.

The group currently has 69 members, with 54 of them reporting volunteer hours.
