MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police are investigating a murder in Rockcastle County.

Police say they were called to a home on Disputanta Road following up on a missing person report just after 3:00 a.m. Sunday.

Deputies say someone told them 40-year-old Tuasha Flores Mejia was driving the missing man’s car.

The car was found in her driveway, and the man’s body was found under a tarp in her yard.

Mejia was inside the home and arrested.

Mejia told police the victim told her he was going to Tennessee days earlier, but didn’t know about the body.

Mejia is facing charges including murder and robbery. She will be in court on October 13.

Autopsy and toxicology reports are pending.

This case remains under investigation.
