SPOKANE, Wash. -- Starting today, it's now more expensive to explore Washington's state parks.
The 50% price increase of Washington's Discover Pass went into effect October 1 raising the price from $30 to $45.
The revenue generated from the Discover Pass goes to Washington state parks to help manage wildlife areas, trailheads, conservation areas and more.
The increase is the first since 2011 and signed by Governor Ferguson in May.
