One man has been sentenced for a dramatic shooting and arson that erupted at a home in Colwood in 2024, while another suspect remains at large, RCMP said Wednesday.

Abjeet Kingra, now 26, was sentenced to six years in prison for two charges – arson damaging property and intentionally discharging a firearm into a place knowing or being reckless as to whether another person was present, or being reckless as to the life or safety of another person.

A judge handed him a two-year sentence for the arson charge and a six-year sentence for the firearm offence, with the sentences to be served concurrently.
