HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Lacarreon Jackson, 25, and Devin McPhail, 26, were both arrested by the Hattiesburg Police Department for allegedly faking an armed robbery.
On Tuesday, around 4:45 a.m., HPD tells us that officers responded to the 6700 block of Highway 49 after receiving a report that a male had entered the store, displayed a weapon and demanded cash from the register. Upon arrival, police learned that the suspect had fled the scene.
After further investigation, detectives discovered that the “victim” and “suspect” were actually working together and that the incident was completely fabricated.
Jackson and McPhail are both charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit a felony. They are incarcerated at the Forrest County Adult Detention Center.
