SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Snakes, panthers, manatees, and even sharks! The Suncoast is home to many animals, and for the adventurous spirit, there are many ways to explore these special creatures.

That’s why our crew traveled across the Suncoast to highlight the many animal offerings we have!

We began at Sarasota Jungle Gardens , which is celebrating 86 years in business! First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt was known to visit Jungle Gardens often. She called in the “snake farm”. Although you can still see snakes to this day, there are so many more animal encounters to experience.

Gators are a popular attraction; children line up to hold baby gators. In our story, you’ll meet gators, singing birds, flamingos, and the world’s smallest deer.
