WASHINGTON — Joshua Allen, known for winning Season 4 of "So You Think You Can Dance," has died. He was 36.

A family member of Allen's confirmed the news to and , asking fans for "privacy and prayers." No official cause of death was immediately known for the "So You Think You Can Dance" alum, but his family told TMZ that the dancer died after being hit by a train.

The dancer died early Tuesday in Fort Worth, Texas, according to the The cause of death on the medical examiner's website is still pending.

Emmanuel Hurd, a choreographer who was close to Allen, paid tribute to the 36-year-old late Monday.
