NEW YORK -- Ottawa Senators forward Nick Cousins has been fined $2,148.44, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Montreal Canadiens forward Ivan Demidov during NHL Preseason Game No. 69 in Quebec City on Tuesday, Sept. 30, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 7:22 of the third period. Cousins was assessed a minor penalty for slashing.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
