EXCLUSIVE: Development of the upcoming Broadway -bound Dolly Parton bio-musical Dolly: A True Original Musical is continuing as planned and will not be impacted by the singer’s recently disclosed health challenges.

In a statement to Deadline, a rep for the show says, “The news from the weekend will not affect our development process or timeline for production.”

The musical, which had its premiere in a sold-out run this July at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Belmont University in Nashville, is planned for Broadway in 2026. Producers, including Parton, have not disclosed a more specific time.
