PHOENIX (AZFamily) — All this week on Good Morning Arizona, we’re getting ready for fall with our favorite slow cooker recipes.

Today’s recipe is for slow-cooker apple crisp, brought to us by First Alert Traffic Anchor Gina Maravilla.

Yields: 6-8 servings

Ingredients:

For the Apple Base:

6 cups sliced apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or a mix, peeled and cored)

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Optional: ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg, ¼ cup dried cranberries

For the Crisp Topping:

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup packed brown sugar

½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Optional: ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Directions:

Prepare Apples: In a large bowl, combine sliced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon.
