Students from Kirkland Lake’s École secondaire catholique l’Envolée du Nord’s health and active lifestyle class recently went on quite an adventure.
The class pedaled 10 km (one way) on rough terrain to reach Big lake Abitibi for a three-day, two- night trip.

While there, the students partook in various outdoor education activities such as wilderness cooking, fishing, orienteering, fire starting, archery, as well as other camping activities. The group even caught enough fish for a fantastic fish fry on one of the nights.
Teacher Ryan Morrissette said “the best part of the trip was that students did not have any cellular service in the area. So, they were completely disconnected from their day-to-day routines.” He also appreciated the focus and effort the student
