AVON LAKE, Ohio — Avon Lake City Schools announced new safety policies this week after a student was struck by a motorized bike during halftime of last Friday’s home football game.
The district said the Troy Intermediate School student who was struck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after being hit by an e-bike outside the stadium gates. The incident, along with a previous crash last school year, prompted administrators to revise rules for both e-bikes and student conduct at games.
