Jane Goodall, the renowned conservationist who shaped the world's knowledge of chimpanzees, has died at the age of 91, the institute she founded announced Wednesday.
The Jane Goodall Institute said she died of natural causes while on a speaking tour in California. Goodall had been scheduled to take part in an event in Pasadena to kick off an initiative , named TREEAMS (Trees + Dreams), in partnership with the institute. At the event Wednesday, a moment of silence was held for Goodall, and a prerecorded video was played of her talking about the importance of youth and their ability to change the world.
