NEW ORLEANS, La. - New Orleans will host the college football national championship game for the 2027 season, officials confirmed Wednesday.
Gov. Jeff Landry, state and city officials, and representatives from the NCAA, the College Football Playoffs, and the Sugar Bowl announced the news in the Caesars Superdome on Wednesday.
The news was initially reported by the Associated Press on Monday.
The game will be held in the Superdome on Jan. 24, 2028, about eight years after the last title game held in the dome in January 2020, when LSU defeated Clemson.
