UNION COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Union County Coroner’s Office said it responded to a fatal crash Tuesday night.

The coroner responded around 11:45 p.m. to the scene on Monarch Highway at the intersection of Beltline Road.

The victim was identified as 23-year-old Daunté Scott Gist.

According to the coroner, Gist was driving a Kia Santa Fe traveling south on Beltline Road.

Officials said that an autopsy will be performed at Newberry Pathology Group.
