LEE COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Lee County Sheriff Daniel Simon provided new details about a deadly shooting at a local truck stop over the weekend.

The sheriff’s office said 34-year-old Derrick Scott, Sr., of Little River, is charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and unlawful conduct toward a child.

The sheriff also identified the victim as 34-year-old Porsha Daneille Ivey.

Simon told WIS on Wednesday that the Ivey’s three children, between the ages of 4 and 9, were among those who witnessed the shooting late Sunday at the Pilot truck stop on Sumter Highway.

“We’ve got a witness who was at the gas pump pumping gas, saying the kids got out of the vehicle...saying ‘You shot mommy,’” the sheriff said.
