COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Department of Social Services (SCDSS) says SNAP recipients will still receive their October 2025 benefits.

DSS says based on a guidance the department received on Wednesday, Oct 1, SNAP benefits will be paid to qualified and approved SNAP households for the month of October during the federal government shutdown.

Also, officials say the status of SNAP benefits beyond October 2025 is unclear as the department waits on additional information from the federal government.
