( 25News Now ) - With temperatures still feeling summer-like as the calendar turns to October, boys’ golf starts to heat up as regionals teed off across the area today.

At the 2A Metamora Regional, it came down to a playoff, but Washington’s Gavin Schreurs finished on top with a 68 individually; the Panthers won the team title by fifteen strokes. Metamora was runner-up as a team, led by runner-up Jackson Bevard.

Also in 2A at the Normal U-High Regional, the Pioneers were dominant as they won the team title by twenty-four strokes. The hosts also had four of the top five individual finishers, led by the medalist Brody Allen with a 72. Dunlap finished second as a team at the Macomb regional, led by runner-up Nolan Eccles.
