Health insurance premiums are rising more than 20% next year for thousands of Minnesotans covered on the individual market, including through the state's MNsure marketplace.
On Wednesday, the Minnesota Department of Commerce released finalized rates for 2026, which show average increases of 21.5% for individual plans and 14.2% for small group plans.
“Health insurance rates for 2026 are going up, and the numbers are alarming,” Minnesota Commerce Commissioner Grace Arnold said during a Wednesday press conference at the Capitol. “We had anticipated an increase, but what we’re seeing is a real gut punch.”
