MARYLAND (DC News Now) -- With hundreds of families in a state of uncertainty, Governor Wes Moore announced three actions to support Marylanders impacted by the government shutdown.
On Oct. 1, Moore said all state agencies will employ contingency plans that will help ensure federal programs continue to operate in Maryland. He added that the state will work with the private sector to shield impacted federal workers from eviction, foreclosure and utility shutoffs.
Lastly, Moore noted that Maryland will protect and expand emergency assistance programs for federal employees.
