EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — September is Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, and in our latest 12 Health, we're talking to someone who's been living with a spinal cord injury for more than 10 years and whose life was changed for the better by a program happening right in our area.

Robert Browne was 13 years old when was paralyzed in a surfing accident on Long Island in 2014. He went to rehab for three months after the accident, but once he was back home, he spent three years depressed and resigned to the fact that his life would never be the same. He says he was struggling to find his way in a world that he described as not made for people like him.
