LESLIE, Arkansas — A Florida man has been arrested after allegedly killing his sister in Arkansas earlier this year.

A release from Arkansas State Police (ASP) said Mona Sloop, 69, was found dead at her home on Shady Grove Road in Leslie, Arkansas, on July 22.

After an investigation conducted by multiple law enforcement agencies, ASP said her brother, 68-year-old Mark Brown of DeLand, Florida, was arrested in connection with her murder on Oct. 1

Special agents with ASP traveled to Florida to collect evidence leading to Brown's arrest. He was booked into the Volusia County Detention Center in Florida and now awaits extradition to Arkansas.

ASP said the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible.
