KALB-TVALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - A state-wide economist said he expects a more positive economic outlook for Alexandria and the surrounding areas over the next few years.
Each year, Dr. Loren Scott travels around the Pelican State to evaluate and predict a region’s economic future. In Alexandria on Thursday, October 2, Dr. Scott said Cenla is actively developing and is a prime candidate for a number of major projects with the potential to add thousands more jobs.
Currently, however, Dr. Scott said the region’s growth is holding steady.
“We’re not seeing any significant layoffs of major employers at all. So, I think things look pretty good. We have Alexandria adding about 1,100 jobs over the next two years, which is kind of what they’ve done for the last couple of years,” said Dr. Scott. “The g
