Authorities are still looking for five suspects, including three who are believed to be living outside Canada, as part of the major police operation that targeted organized crime in Quebec on June 12.
The police operation – a joint investigation between Montreal and the Sûreté du Québec called Project Alliance – targeted prominent members of three crime factions in the province: the Italian mafia, Hells Angels and street gangs.
It led to the high-profile arrest of Leonardo Rizzuto, 56, the alleged head of the Italian mafia in Montreal. Rizzuto was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the 2011 death of Lorenzo Lopresti.
