HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - It’s a been a little more than 10 years since Hattiesburg Police Department officers Benjamin Deen and Liquori Tate died in the line of duty.
Coming up Saturday is an annual motorcycle ride in the officers’ memory and honor, “The Deen/Tate End of Watch Memorial Ride.”
Organizers talked about how the ride started, and what this year’s ride will look like.
“It started, of course, right after the two officers were killed in the line of duty, 10 years ago,“ said William Moore, Hattiesburg Cycles chief executive officer.
The officers were killed during a traffic stop on May 9, 2015.
Saturday’s 57-mile ride starts at Hattiesburg Cycle and will “… end up going by the church where Deen is actually buried," HPD Capt. Charles Johnson said.
