EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- An SUV driver was arrested after attempting to make a U-turn at an undesignated railroad crossing, resulting in a train striking his vehicle on Wednesday, Oct. 1, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

Alexis Reyes, 26, was charged with a collision involving damage to a vehicle $200 or more, with a $1,000 bond.

Shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies were dispatched to the 18600 block of Alameda Avenue in reference to a motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, deputies observed a black Chevrolet Suburban that had been struck by a train. The SUV was found unoccupied, according to the Sheriff's Office.
