JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) - Jackson police are investigating after a driver was found deceased inside an overturned vehicle.

Interim Jackson Police Chief and Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said the incident occurred in the 2800 block of Lakewood Drive on October 2, 2025.

Jones said the driver was shot at least once and died at the scene. He said another victim was transported by a private vehicle to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening wound to the leg.

The investigation is ongoing.
